Agronomia.A necessidade de recuperação de áreas degradadas em propriedades rurais, aliada à diversidade de espécies aptas para compor as Áreas de Preservação Permanente (APPs) e Reserva Legal (RL), originou a referida pesquisa, que objetivou obter informações sobre a percepção dos agricultores detentores de conhecimento associado à agrobiodiversidade e ao uso dos recursos genéticos vegetais nativos para este fim. Avaliou-se também a percepção da potencialidade dos Sistemas Agroflorestais (SAFs) como estratégia de recuperação em áreas degradadas. A metodologia levou em consideração levantamentos etnobotânicos realizados em 10 propriedades rurais na Microrregião de Curitibanos, estado de Santa Catarina, utilizando a técnica de amostragem intencional. Os dados revelam que, na percepção dos agricultores, as APPs são importantes para conservação dos recursos hídricos, porém apresentam usos restritos, já o termo Sistemas Agroflorestais é pouco difundido. Existe consenso de que a estratégia do uso de SAFs é viável na recuperação de áreas degradadas, em especial se a composição deste sistema for predominantemente de espécies nativas funcionais ao ambiente e à propriedade. Foram citadas 146 etnoespécies, dentre as principais destaca-se: Acca sellowiana, Araucaria angustifolia, Ilex paraguariensis, Campomanesia xanthocarpa, Eugenia pyriformis, Ocotea porosa, Maytenus ilicifolia e a Tabebuia alba. O cenário reforça uma demanda nas práticas de extensão voltadas ao esclarecimento de uso dos Sistemas Agroflorestais do ponto de vista produtivo e legal, tal como, da funcionalidade das Áreas de Preservação Permanente, auxiliando o produtor rural na estruturação de sistemas produtivos dinâmicos e resilientes.The need for recovery degraded areas in rural properties, associated to the diversity of suitable species for this purpose, originated the objective of this research which was to understand the perception of farmers about plant genetic resources, and also regarding the potential of Agroforestry Systems (SAFs) as a recovery strategy in degraded areas in the micro-region of Curitibanos / SC. The methodology took into account ethnobotanical surveys carried out in 10 rural properties in the cities of Curitibanos region, using the technique of intentional sampling. The data show that in the farm´s perception the Permanent Preservation Areas present very restricted uses and the term Agroforestry Systems is not widespread among them, however seems to behave a consensus that agroforestry structure is viable in the recovery of degraded areas, especially if the composition of this system was based on native species with environment and economic function.
