Para tal, foi realizada uma pesquisa com 462 adolescentes, adultos e idosos em colégios públicos e privados, órgãos públicos, empresas privadas e também em centros de atenção à terceira idade. O instrumento de coleta de dados escolhido foi o questionário que continha 31 questões, divididas em quatro blocos: perguntas relacionadas ao perfil do respondente, de atitude financeira, de comportamento financeiro e por último, de conhecimento financeiro. Os resultados demonstraram que existem diferenças entre os níveis de alfabetização financeira conforme o ciclo de vida da pessoa (adolescentes, adultos ou idosos) e que a média mais alta dos três construtos, é relacionada ao conhecimento financeiro, seguido de atitude financeira e por último, comportamento financeiro. Concluiu-se que os adultos são os mais alfabetizados financeiramente, seguido dos adolescentes e depois os idosos, que são os que possuem menor nível de alfabetização financeira. A pesquisa fez a comparação entre os três ciclos de vida na região determinada, demonstrando através dos resultados os níveis de alfabetização financeira dos três e qual a sua respectiva classificação, trazendo ao final propostas de melhoria para os ciclos de vida em estudo.The present study sought to measure the level of financial literacy among the life cycles of the inhabitants of Greater Florianópolis through the constructs financial attitude, financial knowledge, and financial behavior with the age of the target public. For this, a survey was conducted with 462 adolescents, adults, and elderly in public and private schools, public agencies, private companies, and also in care centers for the elderly. The chosen data collection instrument was the questionnaire that contained 31 questions, divided into four blocks: questions related to the respondent's profile, financial attitude, financial behavior, and lastly, financial knowledge. The results showed that there are differences between levels of financial literacy according to the life cycle of the person (adolescents, adults or elderly) and that the highest average of the three constructs is related to financial knowledge, followed by financial attitude and finally, financial behavior. It was concluded that adults are the most financially literate, followed by adolescents and then the elderly, who have the lowest level of financial literacy.
