Atualmente a Polícia Civil de Criciúma trabalha com um número insuficiente de servidores o que prejudica a investigação de crimes ocorridos na Cidade. Uma forma de auxiliar e tornar o trabalho Policial mais prático e rápido é o uso de tecnologias. Algumas Polícias no mundo já utilizam tecnologias em favor do combate aos crimes, como tecnologias de reconhecimento facial, identificação de placas entre outras. Superando suas dificuldades com o baixo número de Policiais, as investigações nas Delegacias de Polícia de Criciúma ocorrem geralmente nos cartórios Policiais com a oitiva de vítimas e testemunhas. Em depoimentos, vítimas e testemunhas descrevem o autor do delito e a partir daí se inicia o processo de identificação deste através da visualização de fotos do banco de dados da Delegacia de Polícia que investiga o crime. Ocorre que nem todas as fotos dos Bancos de Dados das Delegacias são atuais e no mais, nem todas as fotos que constam nos álbuns de fotos tem as mesmas características descritas pela vítima, tornando o reconhecimento cansativo e mais difícil. Com o uso de programa de reconhecimento, o reconhecimento fotográfico se daria de forma mais rápida, menos cansativo para vítima e daria mais foco às características descritas por ela. Diante disto é proposto neste trabalho, demonstrar os benefícios do uso de programa de reconhecimento de pessoa por foto pela DPCAMI de Criciúma.The main attribution of the Civil Police is the investigation of crimes. Currently, Criciúma Civil Police works with an insufficient number of Civil Police officers, which impairs the investigation of crimes occurring in the City. One way to help and make police work more practical and faster is to use technologies. Some police in the world already work with anticrime technologies, such as facial recognition technologies, i-dentification of plaques and others. Overcoming its difficulties with the low number of police officers, investigations in Criciúma police stations usually take place in police stations with the presence of victims and witnesses. Through testimonies, victims and witnesses describe the perpetrator of the crime and from there begins the process of identification of this, through the visualization of photos from the database of the police station investigating the crime. It happens that not all the photos of the Delegacias Data Banks are current and not all the photos in the photo albums have the same characteristics described by the victim, making the recognition tiresome and more difficult. With the use of a recognition program, the photographic recognition would be given faster, less tiring for the victim and would give more focus to the characteristics described by her.
