Relações Internacionais.O objetivo principal do presente trabalho é abordar as consequências do foco de segurança da política migratória dos EUA em termos de seus efeitos econômicos e humanitários durante os governos Obama e Trump. Com esse intuito, o complexo migratório herdado tanto da Guerra ao Narcotráfico quanto da Guerra ao Terror será avaliado quanto à falta de uma reforma abrangente e os vínculos com a securitização decorrente da última presentes no período de análise. Os efeitos econômicos serão analisados ​​de acordo com a oferta e demanda de trabalho especializado e não especializado, bem como o orçamento federal direcionado aos serviços de migração, incluindo investimentos em agências especializadas, além de custos de detenção e processos judiciais. Ademais, os efeitos humanitários serão examinados com ênfase na chegada de famílias e crianças desacompanhadas. Por fim, será discutido o grau de autonomia presidencial na determinação e reinterpretação da política migratória estadunidense, considerando as mudanças nos fluxos migratórios e a (in)adequação da legislação e infraestrutura do período a eles.The main goal of this work is to address the consequences of the security focus by US migration policy in terms of its economic and humanitarian effects during the Obama and Trump administration. With this intent, the migration complex inherited from both the War on Drugs and War on Terror wil be evaluated regarding the lack of comprehensive reform and the binds to the laters securitization present in the period of analysis. The economic effects will be analyzed according to the offer and demand for specialized and non-specialized work as well as the federal budget directed towards migration services, including investment in specialized agencies in addition to detention and legal processes costs. Furthermore, the humanitarian effects will be examined with an emphasis on families and unaccompanied child arrivals.
