A tese teve como objetivo geral desenvolver um método de análise de menção web para menções web hipertextuais e textuais. Para responder o objetivo geral foram estabelecidos cinco (5) os objetivos específicos: a) revisar a literatura científica sobre webometria; b) aplicar o método de análise de menções web hipertextuais e textuais; c) categorizar as conexões de menções web textuais e hipertextuais das instituições selecionadas por meio de atributos quanto ao formato, idioma, origem da menção web, natureza do documento, contexto da menção web e área; d) analisar os tipos de relações formadas entre os atributos de natureza do documento e contexto da menção web; e) identificar as semelhanças e diferenças dos estudos de menções web textuais e hipertextuais a partir da metodologia aplicada por meio da Correlação Linear de Pearson. Para tanto, teve-se a grande área da Ciências da Informação e a Webometria como fundamentação da pesquisa. Quanto aos aspectos metodológicos, caracterizou-se como uma pesquisa descritiva e exploratória com abordagem aos métodos mistos. A criação do MAMW- Método de Análise de Menções Web resultou num método de sete etapas e num protocolo que possibilita ao pesquisador coletar, analisar e diagnosticar o comportamento informacional das menções web tanto hipertextuais quanto textuais. Para a primeira aplicação do MAMW, foi selecionada a menção web USP, investigada em três instituições brasileiras (UFRJ, Unicamp e Unesp) sob a forma de menção web hipertextual e menção web textual. Também foram investigados seis atributos (Formato, Idioma, Origem da Menção Web, Natureza do Documento, Contexto da Menção Web e Área), que ocasionou resultados com a predominância em documentos no formato PDF, documentos no idioma português e a origem da menção web ligadas para as instituições que mencionam a USP. O Atributo de Área identificou a presença da menção web USP em todas as áreas do conhecimento. Os atributos de Natureza de Documento e Contexto da Menção Web foram os atributos que apresentaram mais características diferentes em relação aos documentos analisados. E, ainda, foi identificada a relação entre o Atributo de Natureza de Documento com o Atributo de Contexto da Menção Web. Além disso, havendo o intuito de compreender se as menções web hipertextuais e as menções web textuais são semelhantes ou diferentes em suas características, foi aplicado o teste de Correlação Linear de Pearson, identificando-se tanto semelhanças quanto diferenças entre as duas variáveis Dentre elas ocasionou relação bem forte nas variáveis das menções hipertextuais e textuais no Atributo de Idioma e correlação bem fraca nas variáveis das menções hipextextuais e textuais no Atributo de Contexto da Menção Web. Portanto, conclui-se que o MAMW é um método que proporciona, a quem o utiliza, novas possibilidades de análise de conteúdo informacional, o qual vem contribuindo à criação de novos indicadores e na tomada de decisão para melhorias institucionais e científicas imediatas e futuras.Abstract: The studies of hypertextual and textual web mentions make it possible to observe the behavior of information on the web, which allows visualizing different scenarios. The thesis had as general objective to develop a method of web mention analysis for hypertextual and textual web mentions. To answer the general objective of the thesis five (5) specific objectives were established: a) review the scientific literature on webometrics; b) apply the method of analyzing hypertextual and textual web mentions; c) categorize the connections of textual and hypertextual web mentions of the selected institutions checking these attributes: format, language, source of the web mention, document type, web mention context and area; d) analyze the types of relationships formed between the attributes of the document's type and the web mention context; e) identify the similarities and differences of the studies of textual and hypertextual web mentions using the methodology applied through Pearson's Linear Correlation. The great area of Information Sciences and Webometrics were used as the theoretical basis for the research. The methodological aspects were characterized as a descriptive and exploratory research with a mixed methods approach. The creation of the WMAM- Web Mention Analysis Method resulted in a seven-step method and a protocol that allows the researcher to collect, analyze and identify the informational behavior of the web mentions, both hypertextual and textual. For the first application of WMAM, the USP web mention was selected and investigated in three Brazilian institutions (UFRJ, Unicamp and Unesp) in the form of hypertextual web mention and textual web mention. Also, six attributes were investigated (Format, Language, Source of the Web Mention, Document Type, Web mention Context and Area), which resulted in the predominance of documents in PDF format, documents in the Portuguese language and the source of the web mention linked to the institutions that mention USP. The area attribute identified the presence of the USP web mention in all areas of knowledge. Document Type and Web Mention Context were the attributes that presented more different characteristics in relation to the analyzed documents. And the relationship between the Document Type attribute and the Web mention Context attribute was identified. In order to understand whether hypertextual web mentions and textual web mentions are similar or different in their characteristics, Pearson's Linear Correlation test was applied, similarities and differences were identified between the two variables. Among them, it caused a very strong relationship in the variables of hypertextual and textual mentions and the Attribute Language and a very weak correlation in the variables of hypertextual and textual mentions and the Attribute Web Mention Context.
