Resumo: This article discusses the mechanisms of control and punishment that underlie a logic of biopolitical investment in life. Such logic engenders power games and discourses that mark the bodies and freedoms of certain populations. It is based on a genealogical study based on materials from focus groups with young people in prison, and on the analysis of public commentary on journalistic articles from the G1 - Globo News Portal website, related to the penal field. Young people in the Focal Group denounce know power games that expose them to a killable and disinvested life. The tensioning of these interconnected lines becomes potent for those considering new possibilities for political ethical action. This highlights the importance of thinking of the penal field beyond the act or penalty as an isolated phenomenon to question a social problem.
