Strategic planning in an agricultural cooperative: a comparative analysis between theory and practice

Resumo: This work aims to analyze the strategic planning of COTRIJUC – Cooperativa Agropecuária Júlio de Castilhos, and compare it with the model proposed by Valadares (2002). This study is a qualitative research, with descriptive characteristics and based on a case study. In the data collection, interviews were carried out, questionnaires were applied and documentary analysis was performed. When analyzing the data, we used content analysis based on classification and categorization techniques. From the point of view of the results, it was identified that a great part of the interviewees have a broad knowledge on Mission, Business and Principles. As for the question about the diagnosis of the situation of the cooperative, most of the respondents affirm that they have an Internal and External Analysis done by COTRIJUC. It was also observed that most of the interviewees affirm that the cooperative has Objectives and that they know the same, as well as claim to have knowledge of the Strategies to reach them. On the Plans of Action, they are divided between those who know fully and those who know it partially. Finally, the item Follow-up allowed us to identify that most of the responses allowed us to conclude that there is clarity, total or partial about how this follow-up process occurs.

Este estudo trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, com característica descritiva e com base em um estudo de caso. Na coleta de dados foram realizadas entrevistas, aplicados questionários e análise documental. Ao realizar a análise dos dados, utilizou-se a análise de conteúdo com base nas técnicas de classificação e categorização. Do ponto de vista dos resultados, foram identificados que grande parte dos entrevistados possuem um amplo conhecimento sobre Missão, Negócios e Princípios. Quanto à questão sobre o diagnóstico da situação da cooperativa, grande parte dos pesquisados afirmam ter uma Análise Interna e Externa feita pela COTRIJUC. Também foi observado que grande parte dos entrevistados afirma que a cooperativa possui Objetivos e que conhecem os mesmos, bem como afirmam ter conhecimento das Estratégias para atingi-los. Sobre os Planos de Ação, ficam divididos entre os que conhecem totalmente e os que o conhecem parcialmente.
