Resumo: | This study analysed emoticons of two young adults with organic Intellectual Disability(ID) related to their experiences in inclusion in order to understand if this participation generatesfeelings of well-being or the opposite, discussing their self-regulation/coping strategies. Thiswork contributes to the problematic related to the inclusion impact in life quality of peoplewith ID and the need for narratives methodologies to advance studies in emotion and DownSyndrome (DS). The participants were two young adults with DS, who participate in typicalsocial collectivities such as school and work. It was produced open and episodic narratives, thatwere filmed/recorded. A Dialogical Analysis of Emotions Indicators in Narratives was performed, which consists in the identification of central experiences by the participants positioning. Theemotions in the experiences were analysed with the scale Appreciative Reading of EmotionsIndicators in Narratives, that takes in account the pragmatic meaning of discourse in joint actionwith the motor component of emotion. The results do not show narratives that refer to negativeexperiences in inclusion, pointing to feelings related to high self-esteem/wellbeing and self-regulationprocess that generate goal- oriented joint actions with and for people they like/love.Coping strategies were noticed by one participant during the interview. This work contributesto stress the need to studies in narratives centred in affective motivators of people with ID concernedto their participation in typical and atypical social collectiveness. |

EMOTIONS IN NARRATIVES OF PEOPLE WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES IN INCLUSION EXPERIENCESEMOÇÕES EM NARRATIVAS DE PESSOAS COM DEFICIÊNCIA INTELECTUAL EM EXPERIÊNCIAS DE INCLUSÃOThis study analysed emoticons of two young adults with organic Intellectual Disability(ID) related to their experiences in inclusion in order to understand if this participation generatesfeelings of well-being or the opposite, discussing their self-regulation/coping strategies. This work contributesto stress the need to studies in narratives centred in affective motivators of people with ID concernedto their participation in typical and atypical social collectiveness.
