DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: CHARACTERIZATION AND ATTITUDE OF FAMILY HEALTHY TEAM FRONT OF THE PROBLEM

Resumo: http://dx.doi.org/10.5902/217976928359Objective: to know the characterization and attitude of the family health team in front of domestic violence. Method: it is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 11 professional of the team located in the Sanitary District of the Suburb Railway of the city of Salvador-Bahia / Brazil, in the first two months on 2010. Data were analyzed through content thematic analysis. Results: health professionals characterize violence against woman as a serious, severe and important matter in society, howeversome professionals feel powerless to provide assistance to women in this situation. Conclusion: it has been shown the need to bring the problematic of domestic violence against women, so that this situation, which is a social problem, becomes to be understood also as a public health problem.

Los datos fueron colectados a través de entrevista semiestructurada aplicada con 11 profesionales de la Estrategia de Salud de la Familia ubicada en el Distrito Sanitario del Suburbio Ferroviario del municipio de Salvador - Bahia/Brasil, en el primer bimestre de 2010. Los datos fueron analizados a través del análisis temático. Resultados: se observó que los profesionales caracterizan la violencia doméstica como un problema serio, grave e importante en la sociedad; sin embargo, algunos se sienten impotentes para prestar asistencia a las mujeres en esa situación. Os dados foram analisados através da análise temática. Resultados: observou-se que os profissionais caracterizam a violência doméstica contra a mulher como um problema sério, grave e importante na sociedade; no entanto, alguns se sentem impotentes para prestar assistência às mulheres nessa situação.
