Resumo: The objective of this article is to analyze the Norman Spinrad’s science fiction novel The iron dream (1971) from the concept of historiography metafiction elaborated by Linda Hutcheon. Further to define the Hutcheon’s concept, jointly with your oppose, the pastiche, and to conjecture about the mass culture studies, the main propose of this paper is to argue the Spinrad’s parody about the authoritarian and racist ideas identified in the North American first half twenty century pulp fictions.
