Resumo: The episodes narrated in ¿Quién mató a Palomino Molero? (1986), by Mario Vargas Llosa, and A Caverna (2000), by José Saramago, object of this study, reflect common events in societies at the time represented by the works. Critically, the writers analyze their context, trying to understand it in a realistic way and leading the reader to the knowledge of the truth that surrounds him, at the same time that he contributes for him to reflect on his role in society.
