Resumo: This paper explores images of devastation, keeping in mind that the sense of expressiondo not refer only to the destruction of something, but also to expressive changes, experienced by the characters in the novel Dois Irmãos, by Milton Hatoum. The objective is to appoint the form that the changes affect the society inthat the characters live, understanding theway that they feel affected for these situations.
