Vidas secas and the sun of hope: an analysis of the work of Graciliano Ramos

Resumo: The present paper has as central motivation a brief reflection on the existentialist sense of Graciliano Ramos’ novels, and has Vidas Secas as the central focus. The paper does a link between the work of Graciliano Ramos and his political view. The intention was to promote a dialogue between his work, and the libertarian dimension of K. Marx’s work (using one of his books), and Psychoanalysis. In this sense, we removed a nihilist image that we can easily get reading Graciliano Ramos’ novels (especially the first three), and bring out into them the affection and hope dimension, in opposition to the violent one.

A intenção foi promover um diálogo das obras do autor com a dimensão libertária da obra de K. Marx (tomando como parâmetro um de seus textos) e com a psicanálise.
