Resumo: This paper has as starting points the analysis and discussion of the representation of love in Sérgio Sant’Anna’s O Livro de Praga: Narrativas de amor e arte (2011), perceiving contemporaneity as the specific time frame. It has the intention of reflecting about the mode and reasoning of the modification of this representation in literature throughout history until getting to the idea expressed today. Nevertheless, in order to evolve such discussion it was endeavored to reflect from the thoughts of philosophers and historians such as May (2012) and Rougemont (1988), who are concerned about the love thematic and lastly, Bauman (2004) who associates both discussions.
