When humans, dogs and paths meet: art, affections, and words in the powerful movement of life on streets

This article focuses on the arts, especially on wheat-paste poster urban interventions and narrative writing, as ways of distribution of the sensible (RANCIÈRE, 2005) and circulation of affections (ESPINOSA, 2009; SAFATLE, 2015) among humans and stray dogs when they meet each other on the streets. We take as certain the existence of a power and subjection relation among these beings; embrace the premise of an urgency in breaking it up to access the non-hierarchic powers between them; and present a conceptual discussion on how their encounter can act in this rupture through the sensations and sensibilities that are awakened, allowing the stray dogs other spatial and existential configurations. We finally present some experimentation with wheat-paste poster urban interventions and narratives produced as part of the authors’ master research project.
