Cultural heritage and aesthetic education: the meanings of the city in the perception of teachers

Resumo: The relationship between cultural heritage and aesthetic education in teacher education is the central theme of this study. Thus, the research sought to understand the conception about cultural heritage by basic education teachers, and to identify reflexive aspects of teaching, emerging from the act of feeling the city, employing an activity in which participants walked the streets blindfolded. The collaborative action research method was chosen, based on the qualitative research approach. The experienced training promoted important reflections on cultural heritage. The importance of integrating discussions on cultural heritage and aesthetic education in the curricula of initial and continuing teacher education is considered, guided by paradigms that value ethical, aesthetic and collaborative dimensions.

Assim, a presente pesquisa buscou conhecer a concepção de docentes do ensino básico sobre patrimônio cultural; além de identificar aspectos reflexivos da docência, emergentes do ato de sentir a cidade, por meio de uma atividade em que os participantes caminharam pelas ruas de olhos vendados. Com base na abordagem qualitativa de pesquisa, optou-se pelo método da pesquisa-ação colaborativa. A formação experienciada promoveu reflexões importantes sobre o patrimônio cultural.
