Educational experiences with film narratives: problematizing cinema in visual arts classes

Resumo: This work departs from problematizing educational experiences of a film narrative in the school environment. It is configured as a report of a teaching experience in the public school context, with young students of elementary school, aged between 14 and 16 years old. The school is part of the municipal education system, in the city of Santa Maria/RS. The experience is focused on the issues triggered by the encounter with the film "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" watched by two groups, in which possibilities of invention, textures and problematizations with and to the films were explored. The narrative perspective was chosen to integrate this investigation, since by narrating we make choices once we narrate according to our vision and understanding of the world.

Configura-se como relato de experiência docente no âmbito da escola pública, com jovens estudantes do 8º ano do Ensino Fundamental, com idade entre 14 e 16 anos. A escola é integrante da rede municipal de educação, da cidade de Santa Maria/RS.  A experiência é focada nas questões disparadas pelo encontro com o filme “A Invenção de Hugo Cabret” assistido com duas turmas, nelas buscou-se possibilidades de inventar inusitadas tessituras e relançar outras problematizações com e para os filmes.
