Resumo:  This article aims to investigate the limits and contact points between the notions of “resistance” and “violence” in the film Bacurau (2019), directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho and Juliano Dornelles. This work will be organized considering three focal points: the necropolitical nature of the relation between the State (embodied in the character of the mayor) and the community of Bacurau; the gamified violence of the group of foreigners against the locals; and the atavistic dimension of the response given by the population of Bacurau against the violence suffered by them. Thus, we intend to demonstrate how “resistance” and “violence” constitute central concepts in Bacurau.
