Politics plural: tangencies between the political discourse and the media discourse

Resumo: Communication and politics have very close or, rather, vital relations: it is through discourse that both are constructed and legitimized by casting different perspectives on topics of social interest. In this research, the discourse of a “traditional media” outlet, Veja magazine, is analyzed in the discursive shaping of the ethos and the image of the political subject Dilma Rousseff, before and after the 2014 presidential election. The theoretical approach is based on the semiolinguistic theory of discourse analysis developed by Patrick Charaudeau, in the analysis of the discursive strategies used by Veja to affect the credibility and legitimacy of Dilma Rousseff.

Nesta investigação, o discurso de um meio de comunicação da “mídia tradicional”, a revista Veja, é analisado na construção discursiva do ethos e da imagem do sujeito político Dilma Rousseff, antes e depois da eleição presidencial de  2014.
