Resumo: This paper discusses the validity of a didactic and pedagogic work based on the process of media literacy education for students of basic education through the construction of media tools in school, such as newspaper and school radio. Based on the theoretical framework of Social-Discursive Interactionism by Bronckart (1999), studies of literacy by Street (1984) and Kleiman (2005) and the Theory of Text and Discourse by Bakhtin (1997), specifically the concepts of dialogism, and genres of discourse, we present reflections on the experience of implementation of educational media (newspaper and radio) in schools of Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil. The study followed the methodological procedures of action research, namely problem setting, action, reflection, transformation (Andaloussi, 2004). The study has proved productive in the creation of new discursive spaces in school, developing students’ awareness about the process of school literacy for the understanding of traditional media discourse, encouraging them to experience new practices and literacy events and, as a result, be able to create the media in their school. Furthermore, when setting up radio programs, newspapers and different editorial sections, the students have been in contact with a plurality of text / discourse genres, and in these significant language activities have found space to create new ways of saying, new genres, named by Baltar (2006) as school-mediatic text genres.

Baseado no quadro teórico do Interacionismo Sociodiscursivo de Bronckart (1999), nos estudos críticos de letramento de Street (1984), Kleiman (2005) e na teoria do texto e do discurso do cículo de Bakhtin/Volochinov (1990, 1997), mais especificamente nos conceitos de dialogismo e gêneros do discurso, apresento reflexões acerca de experiência de implantação/implementação de mídias escolares (jornal e rádio) em escolas gaúchas. otrabalho seguiu procedimentos metodológicos da pesquisa-ação, a saber problematização, ação, reflexão, transformação, conforme andaloussi (2004). oestudo vem se revelando produtivo, pelo fato de estar criando  novos  espaços  discursivos  na  escola,  sensibilizando  estudantes  em  processo de letramento escolar para a compreensão do discurso midiático tradicional, estimulando-os a experimentar novas práticas e eventos de letramento para, em decorrência disso, forjar a mídia da sua escola e interferir na mídia convencional. além disso, ao criarem programas e quadros radiofônicos, jornais e seções de diferentes  editorias,  os  estudantes  têm  entrado  em  contato  com  uma  pluralidade de gêneros textuais/discursivos, e encontrado, nessas atividades significativas de linguagem, espaço para forjar novas formas de dizer, novos gêneros, considerados por Baltar (2006) como gêneros textuais midiático-escolares.Universidade Federal de Santa Maria2010-06-01info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.ufsm.br/letras/article/view/1215110.5902/2176148512151Letras; n. 40: (Jun. 2010) – Gêneros Discursivos e Interfaces Teóricas; 177–1902176-14851519-3985reponame:Letras (Santa Maria.
