From the theories about Realism to the hermeneutical practice: an important step towards the understanding of the queirosiana narrative

Resumo: The work reflects on the theme of Realism, from a philosophical-aesthetic point of view, as well as presents a hermeneutical approach “At the mill” (“No Moinho”) tale of Eça de Queirós. The thoughts about Realism are based on texts by Ian Watt, Pierre Bourdieu, Johannes Hesse and Eça de Queirós. The interpretation of the tale, restates the themes of reading and its effects and the space, looking to reconfigure them in the light of realistic perspectives and irony, in order to avoid a suggestion of a possible moralizing vision for the text.
