Resumo: In this research we aimed to offer students the knowledge of the existence of only five types of regular Plato’s polyhedra, through formal demonstration and practical work of construction of these polyhedra. We presented a part of the history which involves these solid objects, comprehended how the polyhedra are addressed in Brazilian legislation in what regards to Math teaching, defined the concept of polyhedron, presented the Euler’s Relation, pointed the difference between platonic polyhedra and regular polyhedra, as approached by the textbook used in class, and defined the duality of the polyhedra. The practical work consisted of a didactic intervention in classroom, in which the textbook explanations were used with the students and complemented with demonstration and the help of concrete material, as wooden sticks and play dough, as well as folds. This paper has also been developed by using Uma Pletora de Poliedros software that allowed students to know various types of polyhedra and to get acquainted with its elements, by rotating, translating, enlarging, reducing and visualizing faces, edges and vertices of the polyhedra. This research has led us to the comprehension of the importance of the articulation between theoretical and practical work, as it facilitates in a significant way the teaching-learning process of the students.

Apresentamos um pouco da história que envolve esses objetos sólidos, compreendemos como os poliedros são abordados na legislação brasileira referente ao ensino de matemática, definimos o conceito de poliedro, apresentamos a Relação de Euler, a diferença entre os poliedros platônicos e os poliedros regulares, abordada pelo livro didático utilizado nas aulas, e definimos a dualidade dos poliedros. O trabalho prático consistiu de uma intervenção didática em sala de aula em que se fez uso das explicações presentes no livro didático utilizado com os alunos, as quais foram complementadas com demonstrações e auxílio de material concreto, como palitos e massa de modelar, bem como dobraduras. Este trabalho também foi desenvolvido utilizando o software Uma Pletora de Poliedros que possibilitou aos alunos o conhecimento de diversos tipos de poliedros e a familiarização com seus elementos, mediante rotação, translação, ampliação, redução e visualização de faces, arestas e vértices dos poliedros. Esta pesquisa levou-nos à compreensão da importância de se articular o trabalho teórico com o prático, pois facilita de forma significativa o processo de ensino-aprendizagem dos alunos.porUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências Naturais e ExatasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Matemática em Rede NacionalUFSMBrasilMatemáticaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessPoliedros regularesPoliedros de PlatãoRelação de EulerEnsinoRegular polyhedraPlato’s polyhedraEuler’s relationTeachingCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::MATEMATICAAbordagens diversificadas para o ensino dos poliedros de PlatãoDiversified approaches for the teaching of Plato’s polyhedrainfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisGomes, Denilsonhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/8116912195059700Meneghetti, Cinthya Maria Schneiderhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/9380317334360530Lazzarin, João Robertohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6965026304626005http://lattes.cnpq.br/6232513603160129Radin, Leandro Duarte10010000000860090915dd2-1c58-4923-82b3-15a224d55e5653b3a3b9-5e6a-4d6b-afe4-e64b6cb912dbe3b128d2-6076-45d3-a047-71358a16177d2b67ad9d-4e8d-4848-9538-2005db49217breponame:Repositório Institucional Manancial UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGMRN_2018_RADIN_LEANDRO.pdfDIS_PPGMRN_2018_RADIN_LEANDRO.pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf5113395http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/16105/1/DIS_PPGMRN_2018_RADIN_LEANDRO.pdf77a2ef1b5d59bd14c127b20a90753341MD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
