Resumo: According to WHO (WHO, 2011), about 1.8 million people die from intestinal gastro diseases, mostly caused by viruses, bacteria, protozoa and helminths. This work aimed to evaluate the removal of coliforms and Ascaris lumbricoides in a decentralized system of treatment of domestic effluents, consisting of septic tank followed by wetland constructed of vertical flow. This study was carried out at the experimental effluent treatment system (ETS) implanted at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). The ETS was designed and implemented to treat a portion of the effluent generated by the University Student House II - CEU II, 1,500 L / d, equivalent to 10 people. The quantification of total coliforms and E. coli followed the methodology of the Enzymatic Substrate (9223 B. 2. b.). The presence and quantification analyze of helminth and cysts eggs followed the method described in Appendix I of the Control of Pathogens and Vector Attractions in Sewage Sludge. Eighty - six samples of effluents were collected. The removal of total coliforms occurred in the WCFV were 0.23 log and 0.25 log for E. coli. The TS removals were 0.37 Log for total coliforms and 0.35 Log for E. coli. The total removal of total coliforms and E. coli was 0.60 log units. Helminth eggs were found in 5 of the 15 samples, evidencing the absence or very low incidence of these parasites in the UFSM CEU II population, where TS removal was approximately 61.3% and WC 100%. The comparison of operational phases of the system showed the negative influence of the recirculation when analyzed the removal of total coliforms in TS, already for the removal of E. coli even had no significant influence. The TAH, the macrophyte used and the temperature were the contour conditions that most influenced WC removal. Disinfection showed good inactivation of coliforms and E. coli (2.11 and 2.5 respectively) even with residual chlorine residual. The treatment system as a whole showed good results in the removal of helminth eggs, but to achieve the release standards in water bodies with respect to total coliforms and E. coli, a disinfection step is necessary

The treatment system as a whole showed good results in the removal of helminth eggs, but to achieve the release standards in water bodies with respect to total coliforms and E. coli, a disinfection step is necessaryDe acordo com a OMS (WHO, 2011), cerca de 1,8 milhoes de pessoas morrem por doenças gatro intestinais, em sua maioria causadas por vírus, bactérias, protozoários e helmintos. Este trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar a remoção de coliformes e Ascaris lumbricoides em sistema descentralizado de tratamento de efluentes domésticos, constituído por tanque séptico seguido de wetland construído de fluxo vertical. Este estudo foi realizado na estação de tratamento de efluentes (ETE) experimental implantada na Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM). A ETE foi dimensionada e implantada para o tratamento de uma parcela do efluente gerado pela Casa do Estudante Universitário II – CEU II, de 1.500 L/d, o equivalente a 10 pessoas. A quantificação de coliformes totais e E. coli seguiram a metodologia do Substrato Enzimático (9223 B. 2. b.). As análises de presença e quantificação de ovos de helmintos e cistos seguiram o método descrito pelo Apêndice I do Control of Pathogens and Vector Attractions in Sewage Sludge. Foram realizadas 66 amostragens de efluentes. A remoção de coliformes totais ocorridas no WCFV foram de 0,23 Log e de 0,25 Log para E. coli. Já as remoções efetuadas pelo TS foram de 0,37 Log para coliformes totais e 0,35 Log para E. coli. A remoção global de coliformes totais e E. coli foi de 0,60 unidades logarítmicas. Foram encontrados ovos de helmintos em 5 das 15 amostragens, evidenciando a ausência ou baixíssima incidência destes parasitas na população da CEU II da UFSM, onde a remoção do TS foi de aproximadamente 61,3% e de 100% para o WC. A comparação de fases operacionais do sistema demonstrou a influência negativa da recirculação quando analisado a remoção de coliformes totais no TS, já para a remoção de E. coli a mesmo não teve influência significativa. A TAH, a macrófita utilizada e a temperatura foram as condições de contorno que mais influenciaram as remoções no WC. A desinfecção apresentou boa inativação de coliformes e E. coli (2,11 e 2,5 respectivamente) mesmo com baixo residual de cloro. O sistema de tratamento como um todo demonstrou bons resultados nas remoções de ovos de helmintos, porém para atingir os padrões de lançamento em corpos hídricos no que tange a coliformes totais e E. coli se faz necessário uma etapa de desinfecção.Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico - CNPqporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de TecnologiaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia AmbientalUFSMBrasilEngenharia AmbientalAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessFiltro plantado com macrófitasAscaris lumbricoidesTanque séptico anóxicoFilter planted with macrophytesAscaris lumbricoidesAnoxic septic tankCNPQ::ENGENHARIASRemoção de coliformes e Ascaris lumbricoides em sistema de wetland construído de fluxo verticalRemoval of coliforms and Ascaris lumbricoides wetland constructed system of vertical flowinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisWolff, Delmira Beatrizhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/2590812446293555Silveira, Andressa de Oliveirahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/1829365955344819http://lattes.cnpq.br/7828220039083646Trevisan, Gabriel de Menezes300000000009600d1ae57f3-3689-43b6-951b-a0d592339b75f40fe181-07f6-4430-8c70-6f55d9f139ec6ea6603a-15d9-481f-92e0-2d38f38f8154reponame:Repositório Institucional Manancial UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGEA_2017_TREVISAN_GABRIEL.pdfDIS_PPGEA_2017_TREVISAN_GABRIEL.pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf2097966http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/13844/1/DIS_PPGEA_2017_TREVISAN_GABRIEL.pdf3fe9f35766212a49bffac8fcafed6219MD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
