Resumo: The problems related to solid waste, at present, are linked to the increase in the generation and proper disposal. You can find the streets of San Sebastian de Roca Lagoon irregular disposal of domestic waste. In this sense the present study aimed to analyze the behavior of residents in the management of solid waste. The data collection technique consisted of semi-structured interviews, from July to November 2014. With the obtained data, it was found that respondents residents have not been concerned with the generation of waste, exerting a strong negative influence on environmental quality local. with the lack of infrastructure and basic living conditions, the individual end up adapting their reality, what seems impossible for some, for others it is everyday reality.

É possível encontrar pelas ruas de São Sebastião de Lagoa de Roça deposição irregular de resíduos doméstico. Neste sentido o presente trabalho teve como objetivo analisar o comportamento dos moradores no manejo dos resíduos sólidos domiciliares. A técnica de coleta de dados consistiu em entrevistas semiestruturadas, no período de Julho a Novembro de 2014.
