Resumo: | This article aims to highlight the need to listen and accept the sayings of children and adolescents institutionally welcomed while waiting for a new family through adoption. This is a bibliographical research based on: the perspective of Psychoanalysis; *in the authors read and discussed* in the courses and study group of the Extension Project that deals with adoption and institutional reception; and in the analysis of the short story “Martina and the Bridge Builder”, by D’Andrea (2012). The reflections of this study tend to contribute to the preparation of professionals who accompany the children and adolescents in foster care, as well as the adopters, so that the adoption processes are successfully completed, guaranteeing the adoptees the right to family life. |

Se trata de una investigación bibliográfica basada en: la perspectiva del Psicoanálisis; *en los autores leídos y discutidos* en los cursos y grupo de estudio del Proyecto de Extensión que trata sobre adopción y acogida institucional; y en el análisis del cuento “Martina and the Bridge Builder”, de D’Andrea (2012). Las reflexiones de este estudio tienden a contribuir a la preparación de los profesionales que acompañan a los niños y adolescentes en acogimiento familiar, así como a los adoptantes, para que los procesos de adopción sean culminados con éxito, garantizando a los adoptados el derecho a la vida familiar.Este artigo objetiva evidenciar a necessidade de escutar e acolher os dizeres da criança e do adolescente institucionalmente acolhidos à espera de uma nova família pela via da adoção. Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica com base: na perspectiva da Psicanálise; nos autores lidos e discutidos nos cursos e grupo de estudos do Projeto de Extensão que trata sobre adoção e acolhimento institucional; e na análise do conto “Martina e o construtor de pontes”, de D’Andrea (2012).
