Resumo: | The article aims is to draw an overview of academic research on fact-checking in the journalistic field, in order to identify the theoretical aspects and methodological procedures of studies available in national scientific journals and events. In describing the state of the art, it can be seen that the first polls date from 2015 to 2017, focusing on the electoral political discourse of the check agencies. Although the theme is emerging in the Brazilian media, studies of empirical nature predominate with reflections from the democratic theory and in the light of the theories of truth. However, research should advance methodological explanations to better understand the construction of knowledge in journalism. |

However, research should advance methodological explanations to better understand the construction of knowledge in journalism.El propósito de este artículo es obtener una visión general de la investigación académica sobre verificación de hechos en el campo periodístico, con el fin de identificar los aspectos teóricos y los procedimientos metodológicos de los estudios disponibles en revistas y eventos científicos nacionales. Al describir el estado del arte, se puede ver que las primeras encuestas datan de 2015 a 2017, centrándose en el discurso político electoral de las agencias de verificación. Aunque el tema está emergiendo en los medios brasileños, los estudios de naturaleza empírica predominan con reflexiones de la teoría democrática y a la luz de las teorías de la verdad. Sin embargo, la investigación debería dar explicaciones metodológicas para comprender mejor la construcción del conocimiento en el periodismo.O artigo se propõe identificar a consistência teórica e metodológica das pesquisas acadêmicas sobre fact-checking entre os anos 2015, 2016 e 2017, com objetivo de refletir a construção do conhecimento científico no âmbito jornalístico. Por meio de uma revisão narrativa e de análise de conteúdo (BARDIN, 1979) das pesquisas acadêmicas, constatou-se que grande parte das discussões não se limita a descrição empírica do objeto estudado, porém é necessário avançar nas explicações metodológica aplicadas nos trabalhos, abordagem essencial para o amadurecimento do jornalismo no campo científico.
