Resumo: The main of this work was to determine the timber losses at the timber harvesting process. Data were collected th the proposed evaluation directly form Pinus teada forests. The measurement of wood lost was made with dendrometric level and tape measure by Smalians’ cubic meters of each ouece of wood lost in the field after finished wood drag and trasportation. Such easurements were ade into amostral unities casually allocated, with an area of 400m². Values were converted to cubic metes per hectare and sterile metes. The results obtained showed that 62,9% of the log-length have diameters between 10 and 14 centimeters and 84,95% of these log-length have lenghs between 1,5 and 2,5 meters. Such dimensions allow their use at the cellulose industry, remembering that the diameter and length intervals showed was the least ones, what it means that the other long-lengths lost had larger dimensions, so they can be completely used. The reflections of these losses by economic means are expressive and carry an important information to future decisions to improve the productive system. It is also emphasized importance of the general losses study to allow the better use of wood harvested, not only by economic reasons, but also by the point of view of total quality control.
