For this trial, lettuce seeds were used and aqueous extractextracted from the leaves of araucaria, with concentrations of 10%, 7.5%, 5.0% and 2.5%. The effect of thesefour concentrations was compared with distilled water (concentration 0%). Based on the collected data,percentage of germination (G%), germination speed index (GSI), average germination time (t), seedlingslength and dried mass were determined. Results showed that aqueous extract from araucaria leaves has aninhibitory property on germination, germination speed index and initial growth in Lactuca sativa.

No experimento foram utilizadas sementes de alface e extrato aquoso extraído das folhas de araucária, com concentrações de 10%, 7,5%, 5,0% e 2,5%. O efeito destas quatro concentrações foi comparado com o de água destilada (concentração 0%). A partir dos dados coletados, determinou-se a percentagem de germinação (G%), índice de velocidade de germinação (IVG), tempo médio de germinação (t), comprimento e massa seca das plântulas.
