Analysis of the quality of life of security guards working in a higher education institution

Resumo: | Higher education institutions have several agents that support their activities, including outsourced surveillance collaborators. Bearing in mind that the workload of a security guard can compromise his rest and leisure, in addition to negatively influencing the quality of life in general, it is important to analyze the degree of employee satisfaction regarding the quality of life at work, since this is an index composed of psychosocial parameters, health conditions, well-being in the workplace and adequacy of work resources. In this way, the present work aims to verify the degree of satisfaction of these professionals and the work relations with the HEI. In order to reach the objective, a quantitative study of a descriptive nature was carried out, possible through the application of the Quality of Working Life Questionnaire bref and the use of the Organizational Support Perception Scale for 7 security guards from a higher education institution in Pará. Although the literature points out that the work of security guards negatively affects their quality of life, as a main result it was observed that the security guards interviewed have a high degree of satisfaction. |

Tendo em vista que a carga horária de trabalho de um vigilante pode comprometer seu descanso e lazer, além de influenciar negativamente na qualidade de vida de forma geral, é importante analisar o grau de satisfação dos colaboradores relativo à qualidade de vida no trabalho, visto que este é um índice composto por parâmetros psicossociais, condições de saúde, bem-estar no local de trabalho e adequação dos recursos de trabalho. Desta forma, teve-se por objetivo verificar o grau de satisfação destes profissionais e as relações de trabalho com a IES. Realizou-se um estudo quantitativo de natureza descritiva, por meio da aplicação do Quality of working life questionnaire bref e a utilização da Escala de Percepção de Suporte Organizacional para sete vigilantes de uma instituição de ensino superior no Pará.
