School management and large scale evaluation: realities, possibilities and challenges

Resumo: The objective of this study was to understand the relationship between school management and evaluation policies on a large scale. With a qualitative approach, information analysis includes results from the Basic Education Development Index - Ideb - of state schools in Rio Grande do Sul, as well as the analysis of academic-scientific articles on the subject. In summary, we can say that large-scale evaluations have a direct impact on school daily life and school management work. Such impacts produce new challenges to school management, such as greater knowledge of the process of forming these assessments, as well as using the results of this index to qualify student learning.Key-words: school management; large scale evaluation; Ideb.

Com abordagem qualitativa, a análise de informações compreendeu resultados do Índice de Desenvolvimento da Educação Básica - Ideb - de escolas estaduais do Rio Grande do Sul, bem como análise de artigos acadêmico-científicos sobre a temática. Em síntese, podemos afirmar que as avaliações em larga escala impactam diretamente no cotidiano escolar e no trabalho da gestão da escola.
