Inclusion of people with disabilities in the labor market: advances and challenges observed in Teresópolis county, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Resumo: | The inclusion of people with disabilities is strategic in the socioeconomic perspective and in the management of diversity, subjects discussed in the present study, whose objective is to analyze how the inclusion program is being administered and recognized in companies of Teresópolis, county of Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. The research, with qualitative and exploratory approach, works with a sample of different segments and sizes, from 100 employees or more. The interview script was referenced by a conceptual model composed of practices indicated as relevant by the literature and the data collection involved on-site interviews with managers. The results revealed a significant portion of the sample does not absorb the adequate proportion of people with disabilities, nor perform continuous monitoring, including the absence of previous preparation for acceptance. As positive aspects, a significant fraction of companies practice isonomy and attest that employees with disabilities are fully adapted. In the set of information it was possible to observe contradictions typical of the transitional culture. |

A pesquisa, de abordagem qualitativa e enfoque exploratório, trabalha com uma amostra de diferentes segmentos e portes, a partir de 100 empregados. O roteiro de entrevista foi referenciado por um modelo conceitual composto por práticas indicadas como relevantes pela literatura e a coleta de dados envolveu entrevistas in loco com gestores e dirigentes. Os resultados revelaram que uma parcela significativa da amostra não absorve o contingente de pessoas com deficiência na proporção devida nem realiza acompanhamento contínuo do programa, o que inclui ausência de um trabalho anterior de preparação para o acolhimento. Como aspectos positivos, uma fração expressiva de empresas pratica isonomia e atesta que os colaboradores com deficiência estão plenamente adaptados.
