Resumo: | This paper aims to present an analysis of the Research Groups related to Special Education registered in the Directory of Research Groups in Brazil (DGPB), of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). It is argued, from Pierre Bourdieu’s conceptions, that the Research Groups in Special Education are spaces that allow the development of the scientific habitus. In total, 265 Research Groups were registered, of which 203 (76.6%) are related to Special Education and 63 (23.3%) are specific to the field of Special Education. Groups related to Special Education are infiltrated, organized and distributed within the wider Research Groups, with their participation ensured through specific Research Lines that unfold in various themes. Specific groups present Special Education as an object of priority research, presenting various themes and specifying their productions, composing an important element of the academic field of Education. The grouped data indicate that, in general, the field of Special Education is comprehensive and diverse and is growing significantly, although still insufficient to the dimension of the country and its demands. |
