Deaf education and art teaching in the context of the bilingual school

Resumo: The teaching of art in the early years of Elementary School presents the four languages ​​(Visual Arts, Dance, Music, and Theater) in an integrated way and from a playful perspective. The study aims to analyze the teaching of art in the education of deaf children from the bilingual school perspective. The research is qualitative and interpretive. A teacher and seven students from a deaf bilingual school in Paraná participated in the study. The data were analyzed using a qualitative approach. The data collection instruments were observation, interviews and application of activities, content analysis perspective of content analysis. Concluded that teaching  art to deaf students must occur from the beginning of their schooling. Through this art, they find a way to affect their communication, demonstrate feelings, and construct meanings. It highlights the importance of teaching art in a bilingual school’s classrooms and how much this subject can contribute to the educational development of deaf students.

El estudio tiene como objetivo analizar la enseñanza del Arte en la educación de niños sordos desde la perspectiva de la escuela bilingüe. La investigación es de naturaleza cualitativa e interpretativa. Participaron de la investigación una profesora y siete alumnos de una escuela bilingüe para sordos de Paraná. Los datos fueron analizados con un enfoque cualitativo. Los instrumentos de recolección de datos fueron la observación, la entrevista y la aplicación de actividades, analizados desde la perspectiva del análisis de contenido. Se concluyó que la enseñanza del Arte, para los estudiantes sordos debe darse desde el inicio de su escolaridad, y a través de la enseñanza del Arte, encontrar la manera de efectuar su comunicación, su manifestación de sentimientos y una construcción de significados. Resalta la importancia de la enseñanza del Arte dentro de las aulas de un colegio bilingüe y cuánto tiene que aportar esta disciplina en lo que se refiere al desarrollo educativo de los alumnos sordo.O ensino de Arte, nos anos iniciais do Ensino Fundamental, apresenta as quatro linguagens (Artes Visuais, Dança, Música e Teatro) de modo integrado e na perspectiva do lúdico. O estudo tem por objetivo analisar o ensino de Arte na educação de crianças surdas na perspectiva da escola bilíngue. A pesquisa é de natureza qualitativa e interpretativa. Participaram da pesquisa uma professora e sete alunos de uma escola bilíngue de surdos localizado no Paraná. Analisou-se os dados em uma abordagem qualitativa. Os instrumentos de coleta de dados foram a observação, entrevistas e aplicação de atividades, analisados sob a ótica da análise de conteúdo. Concluiu-se que o ensino de Arte, para os estudantes deve surdos deve ocorrer desde o início da sua escolarização, e por meio do ensino de Arte, encontrar uma forma de efetivar a sua comunicação, a sua demonstração de sentimentos e a construção de significados.
