Deaf Cinderella: political-identity aspects in deaf literature as works of (re)existence

Resumo: | This article intends to show the reactions between the resources involved in the adaptation of the book 'Deaf Cinderella', situating the SignWriting and the elements of Deaf culture and Literature. Therefore, from a bibliographic study, the aim is to analyze the book Deaf Cinderella, understanding it as part of Deaf Literature and historically situated in a context of cultural production typical of a linguistic minority group. According to Bakhtin (2017), literature is not dislocated from culture, we should not only stick to the work, but also seek to understand its basic historical processes. Deaf literature, which began to develop in the 2000s, has helped deaf children to recognize themselves in their difference, as well as reducing prejudice and stigma, popularizing Libras and favoring the recognition and the fight for rights of deaf communities in Brazil. As Karnopp (2010) explains, the popularization of works and other artistic manifestations of the deaf people may be a consequence of deaf movements, organized in institutions and associations since the 1990s. These movements defended sign languages and cultural expression of deaf communities in the country, culminating in the publication of the Law 10.436 of 2002, as a language of communication and instruction for deaf people. Works such as Deaf Cinderella can help in the dissemination of knowledge about important aspects for the deaf community as Libras and deaf culture, promoting identification between deaf children and the main characters of the stories, as well as assist in reducing prejudice and exclusion, so present in the trajectories of deaf people in our country. |

Por lo tanto, a partir de un estudio bibliográfico, se pretende analizar el libro 'La Cenicienta Sorda', entendiéndolo como parte de la Literatura Sorda y situado históricamente en un contexto de producción cultural propio de un grupo lingüístico minoritario. Según Bajtín (2017), la literatura no está dislocada de la cultura, no sólo debemos ceñirnos a la obra, sino también buscar comprender sus procesos históricos básicos. La literatura para sordos, que comenzó a desarrollarse en la década de 2000, ha ayudado a los niños sordos a reconocerse en su diferencia, así como a disminuir los prejuicios y el estigma, popularizando las Libras y favoreciendo el reconocimiento y la lucha por los derechos de las comunidades sordas en Brasil. Como explica Karnopp (2010), la popularización de las obras y otras manifestaciones artísticas de las personas sordas puede ser una consecuencia de los movimientos de sordos, organizados en instituciones y asociaciones desde la década de 1990. Estos movimientos defendieron las lenguas de signos y la expresión cultural de las comunidades sordas del país, culminando con la publicación de la Ley 10.436 de 2002, como lengua de comunicación e instrucción para las personas sordas. Obras como La Cenicienta Sorda pueden ayudar en la difusión del conocimiento de aspectos importantes para la comunidad sorda como las Libras y la cultura sorda, promoviendo la identificación entre los niños sordos y los protagonistas de los cuentos, así como ayudar a reducir los prejuicios y la exclusión, tan presentes en las trayectorias de las personas sordas en nuestro país.Este artigo pretende mostrar as relações entre os recursos envolvidos na adaptação da obra ‘Cinderela Surda’, situando a escrita de sinais SignWriting e os elementos da cultura e Literatura Surda. Portanto, a partir de um estudo bibliográfico, o objetivo é analisar o livro Cinderela Surda, entendendo-o como parte da Literatura Surda e historicamente situado em um contexto de produção cultural típico de um grupo linguístico minoritário. De acordo com Bakhtin (2017), a literatura não está deslocada da cultura, devemos nos ater não apenas a obra, mas também, buscar compreender seus processos históricos basilares. A Literatura Surda, que começou a se desenvolver nos anos 2000, tem ajudado crianças surdas a se reconhecerem em sua diferença, bem como diminuído os preconceitos e estigmas, popularizando a Libras e favorecendo o reconhecimento e a luta por direitos das comunidades surdas no Brasil. Conforme explica Karnopp (2010), a popularização de obras e demais manifestações artísticas do povo surdo, pode ser uma consequência dos movimentos surdos, organizados em instituições e associações desde os anos 1990. Esses movimentos defenderam as línguas de sinais e a expressão cultural das comunidades surdas no país, culminando na publicação da Lei 10.436 de 2002, como língua de comunicação e instrução para as pessoas surdas.
