Resumo: | The definition of giftedness is related to the existence of high abilities in several and different fields and involves the study of process as intelligence, motivation, creativity and leadership. Due to the lack of research in this area, the present study aimed to review researches about giftedness on Brazilian periodic publications, in two databases: Scielo and Pepsic. The results pointed to the existence of 19 theorical and empiric articles, published between 2002 and 2009, that approached distinct dimensions of giftedness: conceptual definitions, models and forms of identification, models of attendance, Brazilian laws to guide the performance, researches with teachers, family and school environment, studies of cognitive, social and emotional dimension, finally behaviors and emotional disorders related to the giftedness. The articles analysis allowed concluding the recent interest for the theme, it was observed divergences in the definition of the concept, the lack of specific tests, with validity and standards, beyond the recognition of the importance of the school environment and the psychologis |

Devido à carência de pesquisas sobre o tema, o presente estudo teve por objetivo realizar uma revisão das publicações periódicas brasileiras sobre superdotação em duas bases de dados, Scielo e Pepsic. Os resultados apontaram a existência de 19 artigos, teóricos e empíricos, publicados entre os anos de 2002 e 2009, os quais abordam distintas dimensões do tema, tais como: definições conceituais, modelos e formas de identificação, modelos de atendimento e programas de enriquecimento, leis brasileiras que norteiam a atuação de diferentes profissionais junto a esse público específico, pesquisas com professores, famílias e o ambiente escolar, estudos sobre a dimensão sócio-emocional e por fim, as desordens comportamentais e emocionais vinculadas à superdotação. A análise dos artigos permitiu concluir o interesse recente pela temática, justificando algumas dificuldades que ainda são notadas, tais como divergências na definição do conceito e a falta de instrumentos específicos validados e normatizados.
