Revelation of talent in brazilian soccer: common instinct and intuition as opposedto metacognition

Resumo: The aim of this article was to identify how "talent" is revealed in Brazilian Soccer. The productivity of our soccer is diagnosed by relating Brazilian sports to world schools. The conclusion emerges that there is a rupture in the dominating mosaic paradigm due to the paradox between the "amateur" profession of a century ago (when players commonly earned no salary, but were paid "under the table" by club presidents), and the present very common practice of "talent spotters" making money by trading players who do not necessarily have any talent. Brazil has the best soccer in the world but does not present the best technical sporting index. Moreover the "talent spotters" evaluate talent by common instinct and intuition in the same way as in previous decades, with no strategic metacognitive perspectives.
