Experiences of university students with disabilities in times of remote education as a result of COVID-19

Resumo: This research is about the experiences of university students with disabilities in relation to remote teaching. It aimed to analyze the experiences of university students with disabilities at a university in the Brazilian Northeast region about remote teaching implemented as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to apprehending the different mediations of this process, supporting us in the assumptions of Socio-Historical Psychology. This is a quali-quantitative study. Therefore, 12 university female students with disabilities answered an online questionnaire, which was analyzed through thematic content analysis, and interpreted from the theoretical-methodological framework adopted in this study. The results pointed to the lack of assistance and specialized monitoring from the management of the university and the Accessibility Center (NAC), in addition to showing the barriers faced in accessing technology, online classes, resources and accessible materials. In conclusion, it is stated that the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the professional training of university female students, aggravating existing inequalities, causing even more invisibility of women with disabilities.

El objetivo fue analizar las experiencias de las estudiantes universitarias con discapacidad de una universidad del Nordeste brasileño en relación a la enseñanza remota implementada como resultado de la pandemia COVID-19, además de aprehender las diferentes mediaciones de este proceso, apoyándonos en los supuestos de Psicología Sociohistórica. Este es un estudio cuali-cuantitativo. Por tanto, 12 estudiantes universitarias con discapacidad respondieron un cuestionario online, que fue analizado mediante análisis de contenido temático, e interpretado desde el marco teórico-metodológico adoptado en este estudio. Los resultados apuntaron a la falta de asistencia y seguimiento especializado por parte de la dirección de la universidad y el Centro de Accesibilidad (NAC), además de mostrar las barreras enfrentadas en el acceso a tecnología, clases en línea, recursos y materiales accesibles. En conclusión, se afirma que la pandemia COVID-19 impactó la formación profesional de las estudiantes universitarias, agravando las desigualdades existentes, provocando aún más invisibilidad de las mujeres con discapacidad.Esta pesquisa versa sobre as vivências de universitárias com deficiência em relação ao ensino remoto. Teve como objetivo analisar as vivências de universitárias com deficiência de uma universidade da Região Nordeste brasileira acerca do ensino remoto implementado em decorrência da pandemia da COVID-19, além de apreender as diferentes mediações desse processo, respaldando-se nos pressupostos da Psicologia Sócio-Histórica. Trata-se de um estudo quali-quantitativo. Para tanto, 12 universitárias com deficiência responderam a um questionário on-line, cujos dados foram analisados por meio da análise de conteúdo temática, e interpretados a partir do referencial teórico-metodológico adotado neste estudo. Os resultados apontaram para a falta de assistência e de acompanhamento especializado provenientes da gestão da universidade e do Núcleo de Acessibilidade (NAC), além de mostrarem as barreiras enfrentadas no acesso à tecnologia, aulas on-line, recursos e materiais acessíveis.
