Resumo: This dissertation has as central problem to understand the role of consumer online social networking practices for mothers of victims of the fire of Kiss Nithclube in the creation of experiences in the daily life, in order to restructure the afterlife tragic death of a child. It started from the idea that digital cultures provided the emergence of a new form of communication as well as a series of experiences in the different social dimensions, as well as allowing the emergence of spaces for old practices such as those related to mourning and death (ELIAS, 2001, RODRIGUES, José, 2006). Thus, we want to understand the particularities and singularities of the online practices of this group of women. The tragedy of Kiss Nithclube left 242 dead in January 2013 at Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul. Even though the police investigation pointed out several irregularities in the nightclub, until February 2019, no one had been held criminally responsible for the killings. Moved by a feeling of helplessness, mothers activate communicative and social dynamics to unite the maternal figure, associated with the domestic space (BADINTER, 1985), in the image of warriors who occupy public spaces (VIANNA, FARIA, 2011) to fight for justice and by the memory of children and tragedy, while seeking ways to re-inhabit the world (Das, 1996). As a theoretical basis, the sociocultural perspective of consumption (DOUGLAS, ISHERWOOD, 2004; MILLER, 2007; MILLER et al 2016) is adopted as something representative and symbolic, capable of giving meaning and identity to the practices and processes of groups and individuals (BARBOSA; CAMPBELL, 2012) in social networks. It starts from the idea of the internet as a cultural artifact, incorporated into everyday life (HINE, 2004, 2015), which assumes different meanings depending on the context in which it is consumed. In this research, an ethnographic approach to the Internet (HINE, 2015) is applied with fieldwork, which includes observation of publications on social networking sites, interactions in offline environments, and interviews with four mothers of victims. It is concluded that the struggle for justice and memory has assumed a centrality in the lives of these mothers that permeates all instances, as well as online social networks, especially Facebook. Thus, their online consumption practices are experienced to build a space of action where they can talk about their pains and their demands, can maintain the image of a mother who suffers and who fights for a collective cause and for a change in the society, besides experiencing mourning and longing. It is also concluded that Facebook assumes five central meanings in the life of mothers: resistance, protection, therapeutic, memory and a new way of being a mother.

Partiu-se da ideia de que as culturas digitais proporcionaram o surgimento de uma nova forma de comunicação e também de uma série de experiências nas diferentes dimensões sociais, além de possibilitarem o surgimento de espaços para antigas práticas como as ligadas ao luto e à morte (ELIAS, 2001, RODRIGUES, José, 2006). Assim se quer compreender as particularidades e as singularidades das práticas online desse grupo de mulheres. A tragédia da Boate Kiss deixou 242 mortos em janeiro de 2013, em Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul. Mesmo tendo a investigação policial apontado diversas irregularidades na casa noturna, até fevereiro de 2019, ninguém havia sido responsabilizado criminalmente pelas mortes. Movidas por um sentimento de desamparo, as mães acionam dinâmicas comunicativas e sociais para unirem a figura materna, associada ao espaço doméstico (BADINTER, 1985), à imagem de guerreiras que ocupam os espaços públicos (VIANNA; FARIA, 2011) para lutar por justiça e pela memória dos filhos e da tragédia, ao mesmo tempo que buscam meios de voltar a habitar o mundo (DAS, 1996). Como embasamento teórico, adota-se a perspectiva sociocultural de consumo (DOUGLAS; ISHERWOOD, 2004; MILLER, 2007; MILLER et al 2016) enquanto algo representativo e simbólico, capaz de conferir sentido e identidade às práticas e processos de grupos e indivíduos (BARBOSA; CAMPBELL, 2012) nas redes sociais. Parte-se da ideia da internet como artefato cultural, incorporada ao cotidiano (HINE, 2004, 2015), que assume diferentes significados dependendo do contexto em que é consumida. Nesta pesquisa, aplica-se uma abordagem etnográfica para internet (HINE, 2015) com a realização de trabalho de campo, que inclui observação de publicações em sites de redes sociais, interações em ambientes offline e entrevistas com quatro mães de vítimas. Conclui-se que a luta por justiça e memória assumiu uma centralidade na vida dessas mães que perpassa todas as instâncias, assim como as redes sociais online, em especial o Facebook. Assim, suas práticas de consumo online são experienciadas para construir um espaço de ação onde possam falar sobre suas dores e suas demandas, possam manter a imagem de mãe que sofre e que luta por uma causa coletiva e por uma mudança na sociedade, além de vivenciar o luto e a saudade. Conclui-se também que o Facebook assume cinco significados centrais na vida das mães: de resistência, de proteção, terapêutico, de memória e de uma nova forma de ser mãe.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências Sociais e HumanasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em ComunicaçãoUFSMBrasilComunicaçãoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessPráticas de consumoBoate KissRedes sociais onlineMãesFacebookConsumer practicesKiss NightclubeSocial mediaMothersCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::COMUNICACAOPráticas de consumo das redes sociais por mães de vítimas do incêndio da boate Kiss: a criação de experiências no cotidianoConsumption practices of social networks by mothers of fire victims Kiss nightclube: the creation of experiences in the daily lifeinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisSilva, Sandra Rubia dahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/7169496368084935Braga, Adriana Andradehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/8424786953911830Siqueira, Monalisa Dias dehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/0994530332510835http://lattes.cnpq.br/9054490485224062Pavanello, Alice Bianchini6009000000086004b8f261d-0a90-44d3-891b-70e9c3027d853b4cb746-b851-45f6-8c56-47da7a37e5140f4c0c60-ec83-4fa2-b9c4-b46dc2c3b26c84844ecf-dda1-4774-a543-37ab5fcff3a8reponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGCOMUNICACAO_2019_PAVANELLO_ALICE.pdfDIS_PPGCOMUNICACAO_2019_PAVANELLO_ALICE.pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf1773527http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/20125/1/DIS_PPGCOMUNICACAO_2019_PAVANELLO_ALICE.pdfd667d27db20a7ceadf588947124e1a90MD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
