Resumo: The growing emphasis on conserving the environment associated with dependence on fossil fuels has stimulated the development and use of biomass as a source of renewable energy. Among the bioenergy alternatives is the rice husk, considered a solid agricultural residue from the processing of this cereal. Due to its continuous production, as well as the characteristic of low density, one of the most usual destinations of rice husk is composting for biodegradation. However, this purpose triggers several environmental problems, mainly related to the emission of polluting gases, caused by the slow decomposition of organic matter. The availability of rice husk in the mills itself boosts the research and the project to implement Distributed Generation (GD), with a view to the energetic use of biomass for electric and thermal power generation. In face of these facts, this thesis aims to develop a multicriterial methodology to support decision making to select the type of distributed minigeration in the rice processing industries. To achieve this objective, all stages of the decision making process are elaborated, including: modeling to estimate residual energy potential, corresponding to generation capacity; incorporation of the actors; establishment of qualitative and quantitative criteria for possible technological alternatives; construction and structuring of the model; application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to rank in order of priority of the alternatives and the selection of the type of distributed minigeration. Finally, for the heuristic validation of the methodology, the case study was proposed in a rice processing industry, for distributed minigeneration of 5 MW.

Dentre as alternativas bioenergéticas está a casca de arroz, considerada um resíduo agrícola proveniente do processamento deste cereal nas indústrias de beneficiamento. Em virtude da sua produção contínua, como também da característica de baixa densidade, um dos destinos mais usuais da casca de arroz é a compostagem visando à biodegradação. Entretanto essa finalidade desencadeia diversos problemas ambientais, principalmente ligados à emissão de gases poluentes, ocasionados pela lenta decomposição da matéria orgânica. A disponibilidade da casca de arroz nos próprios engenhos potencializa a pesquisa e o projeto para implantação de Geração Distribuída (GD), tendo em vista a possibilidade do aproveitamento energético da biomassa residual para geração de potência elétrica e térmica. Diante destes fatos, esta dissertação tem por objetivo desenvolver uma metodologia multicriterial de apoio à tomada de decisão para seleção do tipo de minigeração distribuída nas indústrias de beneficiamento de arroz. Para alcançar este objetivo foram elaboradas todas as etapas do processo decisório, que incluem: a modelagem para estimar o potencial energético residual, correspondendo à capacidade de geração; a incorporação dos atores; o estabelecimento dos critérios qualitativos e quantitativos das possíveis alternativas tecnológicas; a construção e estruturação do modelo; a aplicação do método Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) para classificação em ordem de prioridade das alternativas e a seleção do tipo de minigeração distribuída.
