Percepções dos profissionais de uma instituição de acolhimento sobre a criança com comportamento de altas habilidades/superdotação

The high abilities/giftedness goes beyond the teaching spaces, sometimes by identifying the target audience as well as in labor and promoting the diversity of skills that a person can display. This study aimed to learn the host institution staff team daily work perception on the children s high abilities/giftedness. This study has a qualitative nature, carried as a field research. We performed semi-structured interviews with six staffs of a host institution at Erechim/RS, southern Brazil. The speeches of the interviewees showed terms such as: intelligent (wise), skilled and genetic factor. In addition, there was the interest of the interviewees in learning more about high abilities/giftedness, that goes beyond the already exist private knowledge. We conclude that the host institution has the status of being an educational institution that welcomes children at risk and/or social vulnerability. Additionally, it becomes clear that the knowledge over the high abilities/giftedness are an important tool in educational studies directed to children.
