Resumo: | In the last decades there have been major advances in pediatric oncological research, evolving from a reality in which the majority of the infant or juvenile population would die for a realit y in which this population survives the disease and the treatment. Studies in this field suggest therapeutic schemes that cater the psycological and social needs of children and adolecents that suffer from cancer. The cont inuity of academic life during neo plasia treatment is one of the recommendations, apart from maintenance of the severely ill quality of life; and points to integral health care as it helps identity formation of the student patient, contributing to the redu ction of social exclusion and acad emic failure. In São Paulo, at GRAACC Hospital, there is a department that develops educational care as well as medical care for patients in early academic age (basic education). Nonetheless, the non tradition of chronical ly ill students to attend regular schools often leaves a gap between the work developed in those educational departments in said hospitals (Hospital Schools) and the regular schools from which the patient student originally came. The objective of this doct orate research was to investigate how the communication process between the Hospital Schools from GRAACC and the regular schools from which the student patients came takes place. Thus was built the story of Hospital Schools, always focused on the developme nt of the means of communication b etween schools: the Hospital School and the regular school of origin. It has been sought to answer the research problem: "Is there pedagogical acknowledgement of the communications sent from the hospital schools to regular schools?". The study predominantl y followed the documental research method, with analysis of registers archived in the Hospital School data bank, when these had contents related to the communication and interactions between school agents from both modalit ies of education. A volunteer who acted in the beginning of the hospital school activities as well as coordinators who are still active nowadays were interviewed. All analysis has been conceived under the theory of the "Struggle for Recognition” by Axel Ho nneth and the categorization of co ntent analysis was based on the patterns of intersubjective recognition, also developed by the same author, addressing the spheres of emotional concern ( legal recognition ( and approval ( It has been concluded that this Hospital S chool story clashes with the other schools in the same modality in Brasil due to the commitment in academic and professional training of teachers, with continuous research in the field. Ultimately, it has been concluded th at there is potential development for the recognition of pedagogical actions taken by the investigated Hospital School whereas it was identified in the analyzed communication the recognition of the subjects in the examined registers and such are traversed by the educational care offered by the referred Hospital School. |
