Resumo: | This current research intends to proposes a debate about the multiple images that come from the connections among state, artistic discussion, social movements and real estate intentions at Luz zone, where is the location of the place pejoratively known as Cracolândia, a place composed by buildings known for its rich historical architecture, but in ruins. It is surrounded by several cultural institutions as Public Security, welfare centres, Health departments, religious institutions, NGOs, among others. This zone is also known by the high concentration of homeless people who live there. This group is submitted to the media sensationalism, government promises, complaints done by social movements and artistic actions. All these elements result in the creation and deconstruction of social images, which superimpose each other in continuous ways, resulting in a complex palimpsest. This is the environment where Badaróss, a visual artist who lives in that zone, who is also a crack user, is affected by this whole package composed by speeches and images thrown over his body and his voice. On the other hand, Badaróss uses his work, as urban interventions, to return all the information and structural violence he suffers there. His work reminds noises that reveal another image, which comes inside out and from the bottom to the top, as consequences of this controversial and cacophonous social, political and cultural amalgam that lies there. This research aims to propose a reflexion and understand a Cracolândia beyond the war on drug’s fog which undercovers the real estate and financial interests that has been shaping that zone’s courses. |

This research aims to propose a reflexion and understand a Cracolândia beyond the war on drug’s fog which undercovers the real estate and financial interests that has been shaping that zone’s courses.
