Resumo: The main purpose of this research is to investigate in which ways the clash relation between unconscious and conscious in Nietzsche´s act of philosophizing undertakes a motto which dates back to The Birth of Tragedy, that is to say, the motto of understanding how the Greeks of the tragic era could abide and justify the existence, to the point of being inebriated by it. Hence, the relation between unconscious and conscious would not be limited to the theoretical scope of contents, conceptualization and logical articulation, but would demand for a performative role, by means of an admission and control of unconscious forces in his philosophy, provided by the artistic act. Then, in a first moment our research will address some philosophers from 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, approached by Nietzsche himself, philosophers who, in indulging themselves in a superficial and intermittent device such as the consciousness, have fallen preys of a stumbling block, namely, the stumbling block of their very unconscious fears and desires. In a second moment, in the opposite way, we intend to reveal how Nietzsche activates unconscious commands in his act of philosophizing, performing – with his writing and with his style emanated from his metabolism and physiological pulsation – the transit from unconscious strata to a conscious state, through a deliberated conversion of a necessity to a capacity of communicate. In a third moment, the focus will be on the understanding of the possibility of this transit, and we will be investigating how a reflexivity and an artistic act is performed already among organic drives, grasped in his dimensions and interactions. In a fourth and last moment, we will investigate how, in contrast to metaphysical philosophers, Nietzsche did not succumb to the intermittencies of consciousness, not even the Young Nietzsche, not even with regard to the content of his philosophy, because from very outset, with his notions of intuition and representation he could consider a Dionysus who could subsequently be recovered in other grounds. With this path, we expect being able to point how the clash unconscious-conscious can be comprehended as the hidden propellant core of the Nietzschean project.
