APRENDER NA TV: OS PROGRAMAS EDUCATIVOS DA LA CINQUIÈME E DO CANAL FUTURA (1994-2002)

This article aims to present the main programs related to the education category of La Cinquième and Canal Futura. La Cinquième, the French educational channel created in 1994 and the Futura channel, created in 1997, aimed to collaborate on improving educational rates in France and Brazil, and to this end explored diverse genres and formats. From the analysis of printed and audiovisual documentation of the two broadcasters, from the perspective of the new cultural history, we were able to establish the general lines of the action and demonstrate the distinctions and similarities between the public and private models of educational television implemented in the last decade of the twentieth century
