Summary: This paper, associated to the theoretical perspective of the Materialist Discourse Analysis, considering especially the concepts of memory, silence, historicity, proposes a gesture of analysis of three institutional documents issued by the Ministry of Defense of the current government in the years 2019, 2020 and 2021 which consist of the Order of the Day allusive to March 31, 1964. The main objective is to understand how these official notes commemorating/remembering the 1964 coup issued from the institutional place of the federal government produce meanings about the State violence exercised in the dictatorial period.
