Resumo: | This article discusses the use of "Fascism" in Raduan Nassar's novel A Cup of Rage. It addresses the elasticity given to the term, via George Orwell (2017), as well as the links that such a concept has with, for instance, Liberalism and Marxism, in the light of Atílio Boron (2003). Once this is done, the article focuses on the use of the term in the novel, namely: how it distances itself from the sophisticated elaboration that swarms the unusual associations of Nassarian writing. This would bring up what Barthes (2004) would call the “virtuality of language”, and what Antonio Candido (2006) highlights as "private semantic operation". |
