Resumo: ABSTRACT. This article presents an approach to the distribution plan of school meals in schools of the Purus River riverbank communities by teachers and coordinators from the center of the municipality of Lábrea, in the state of Amazonas. The objective of this work is to present a brief historical and geographic overview of the region and the access difficulties that teachers and coordinators face to meet the demands of riverbank schools during the period of distribution of school meals. The selected methodology was based on the analysis of documents based on reports of the Secretaria Municipal de Educação e Cultura (SEMEC) and photographs. We present as theoretical basis authors that portray the Amazonian social context and the territory of the Purus River communities, the geographic context of the region and the historical and cultural context of the riverbank communities of the Purus River. As general reflections, it is understood that to achieve the educational demands on the Purus River there is a dependence on effort, dedication and commitment of those involved in this mission, who end up dedicating to serving the most distant places in our country, so that students can have the right to education and school meals.

El objetivo del texto es presentar un breve panorama histórico y geográfico de la región en cuestión y las dificultades de acceso que enfrentan los docentes y coordinadores para atender las demandas de las escuelas ribereñas durante el período de distribución de las comidas escolares. La metodología seleccionada se basó en la análisis de documentos a partir de informes de la Secretaria Municipal de Educação e Cultura (SEMEC) y fotografías. Presenta como base teórica autores que retratan el contexto social amazónico y el territorio de las comunidades del río Purús, el contexto geográfico de la región y el contexto histórico y cultural de las comunidades ribereñas del río Purús. Como reflexiones generales, se entiende que para atender las demandas educativas en el río Purús existe una dependencia del esfuerzo, dedicación y compromiso de los involucrados en esta misión, quienes terminan dedicándose a servir los lugares más lejanos de nuestro país, para que los estudiantes pueden recibir el derecho a la educación y la alimentación escolar.ABSTRACT. O objetivo do texto é apresentar um breve panorama histórico e geográfico sobre a região em foco e as dificuldades de acesso que os professores e coordenadores enfrentam para atender as demandas das escolas ribeirinhas durante o período da distribuição da merenda escolar. A metodologia selecionada se deu pela análise documental a partir dos relatórios da Secretaria Municipal de Educação e Cultura (SEMEC) e do acervo de fotografias. Apresenta-se como base teórica autores que retratam o contexto social amazônico e o território das comunidades do rio Purus, o contexto geográfico da região e o contexto histórico e cultural das comunidades ribeirinhas do rio Purus. Como reflexões gerais entende-se que para atender as demandas educacionais no rio Purus existe a dependência de esforço, dedicação e compromisso dos envolvidos nessa missão os quais acabam por dedicar a atender os lugares mais distantes do nosso país, para que os estudantes possam receber o direito à educação e à merenda escolar.
