The heroes of riverbank education of the Purus River: the distribution of school meals in the communities

ABSTRACT. This article presents an approach to the distribution plan of school meals in schools of the Purus River riverbank communities by teachers and coordinators from the center of the municipality of Lábrea, in the state of Amazonas. The objective of this work is to present a brief historical and geographic overview of the region and the access difficulties that teachers and coordinators face to meet the demands of riverbank schools during the period of distribution of school meals. The selected methodology was based on the analysis of documents based on reports of the Secretaria Municipal de Educação e Cultura (SEMEC) and photographs. We present as theoretical basis authors that portray the Amazonian social context and the territory of the Purus River communities, the geographic context of the region and the historical and cultural context of the riverbank communities of the Purus River. As general reflections, it is understood that to achieve the educational demands on the Purus River there is a dependence on effort, dedication and commitment of those involved in this mission, who end up dedicating to serving the most distant places in our country, so that students can have the right to education and school meals.
