The Anarchic and Violent Influence of the Memes in Brazilian Politics

Resumo: This article reproduces an investigation about the types of violence present in memes that portrayed the candidates for the Presidency of Brazil in 2014, theese which came from a questionable digital anarchy that occurred in that period. The main hypothesis of this study is that memes have induced netizens to negatively ideas about candidates and that these representations, were partly, elaborated by political groups that benefited from the secrecy generated by the digital enviroment to depreciate their opponents. Thus, the present study provides a broader reflection on such ilegal activities practiced in the field of the internet.   KEYWORDS: Memes; violence; policy; internet; astroturfing.

La hipótesis principal de este estudio es que los memes han inducido a los internautas a interpretaciones negativas sobre los candidatos y que estas representaciones fueron, en parte, elaboradas por los grupos políticos que se han beneficiado del anonimato generado por el entorno digital para desacreditar a sus adversarios.   PALABRAS CLAVE: Memes; violencia; política; internet; astroturfing.Este artigo reproduz uma investigação sobre os tipos de violência presentes nos memes que retrataram os candidatos à Presidência do Brasil em 2014, os quais advieram de uma questionável anarquia digital que ocorreu no arrogado período. A hipótese principal deste estudo é que os memes induziram os internautas a interpretações negativas sobre os candidatos e que estas representações foram, em parte, elaboradas por grupos políticos que se beneficiaram do anonimato gerado pelo ambiente digital para depreciar seus adversários.
