This article discusses the characteristics of the discourse of solidarity intrinsic to the language of the “Estrelas Solidárias” and “Caldeirão do Huck” programs, both shown on Saturdays on Rede Globo de Televisão nationwide. Here, the cutout for qualitative analysis lists the programs shown on June 16, 2017. The hypothesis is that the grotesque, codified in the need of the less favored classes or in individual cases of affective or material want, is the main narrative of this kind of articulation, in which information and entertainment merge. The references are the studies by Sodré (1975, 2004, 2006) about the grotesque in Brazil's mass media. Furthermore, adds the concept of tele-solidarity of García-Canclini (2008), before which identified a mix of mediated solidarity with touches of a high tech assistencialism.
