Resumo: Este artigo tem como objetivo testar as hipóteses de que os indivíduos em prevenção farão suas escolhas quando submetidos a comentários positivos com ajuste regulatório e adiarão quando forem submetidos a comentários negativos com/ou sem ajuste regulatório. Para atender a esse objetivo, utilizou-se o método experimental. A análise categórica dos dados apontou efeito significativo da valência da informação com ajuste regulatório na escolha do consumidor. Assim, quando o indivíduo com foco em prevenção é submetido a informações com valência positiva e com ajuste regulatório tomará suas decisões imediatamente e quando submetido a informações com valência negativa com ou sem ajuste regulatório adiará suas decisões. Os resultados desse estudo trazem evidências de que o foco regulatório e o ajuste regulatório influenciam na tomada de decisão dos indivíduos.

To meet this objective, the experimental method was used. The categorical analysis of the data pointed to a significant effect of the information valence with regulatory fit in consumer choice. Thus, when the individual with a focus on prevention is submitted to information with positive valence and with regulatory fit will make their decisions immediately and when subjected to information with negative valence with or without regulatory fit will deferral their decisions.
